The story revolves around Seishuu Handa, a talented young calligrapher who gets into trouble with a prominent art critic and is sent to a remote island in the Goto Archipelago as a form of punishment. There, he encounters the island's unique inhabitants and begins to find inspiration for his calligraphy in the simplicity of rural life.
