A Fantastic Master Duel Tournament Experience Online on the month of August

The Mono Type Festival is about having only 1 type of monster in both Main and Extra. For example, if there is a Spellcaster monster in the Main Deck, all other monsters in both Main and Extra must be Spellcaster monsters.

The Additional Forbidden & Limited List has been given down below (check title to see if banned, limited or semi-limited). This banlist is merged with the current Standard Forbidden & Limited List we have in Master Duel, meaning you also must consider the cards in the Standard Forbidden & Limited List.

Event Highlights:

Having only 1 type in the entire Main and Extra deck combined, a lot of decks had their time to shine. Such was Rikka Sunavalon; a plant-based deck that focuses on summoning link and XYZ monsters that have effects related to the controller’s Life Points, or effects when they get tributed. The duels showed how much of a strong deck it can be, yet can also easily brick with dead hands.

“I expected a lot of other decks to be present, but it seems like most of the participants already had their decks in mind. The banlist for this event was extremely tedious to do, but maybe the same event will be re-run again, with even better rewards.”

Memorable moments:

Albeit being a trashy hand against an extremely strong deck, the Labrynth player still had some spice in the deck: Phoenix Wing Wind Blast, Wall of Disruption, and Storming Mirror Force. It was fun to see those old-school cards being played in a meta deck, but saddening how power-crept they have been.

Overall, everyone enjoyed dueling in the tournaments. Each duelist showed their skills in deckbuilding and dueling, and everyone was respectful towards each other, playing fairly.
