New Manga : Sasuke Retsuden Released With Chapter 1

The light novel series Sasuke Retsuden: The Uchiha Descendants and the Heavenly Stardust was first published in 2019. It was written by Jun Esaka and explored some wild territory for both Sasuke and Sakura, helping to solidify their relationship and pave the way for them to eventually start a family and have Sarada as their daughter. While the Shonen's anime adaptation of this side story hasn't confirmed whether it would be adapted for television, a similar situation occurred in the past with the side tale about Kakashi and Might Guy looking for healing springs.

Unfortunately for Konoha, Naruto is now suffering from a fatal illness connected to the Sage of the Six Paths, and Sasuke and Sakura are searching for a solution to save their friend's life. The former Team 7 members may not have as much support as they'd want, but they are still two of the most potent ninjas at the Hidden Leaf Village's disposal because this story takes place a long time before Boruto was born.

The Shonen Jump+ app in Japan has tracked Sasuke Retsuden's hits, and the number is undoubtedly astonishing. To yet, more than 1.1 million reads have been recorded, and MangaPlus isn't even taken into account. Since the launch of the Naruto spin-off, the international manga service has recorded 250k impressions. Following the launch, Sasuke has also become one of the most searched terms on Google, and of course, the ninja's popularity on social media platforms like Twitter and Tumblr has increased.

This new comic obviously appeals to readers. Given the popularity of the Sasuke Retsuden novels, many people assumed the series would be successful, but its manga reception has beyond expectations among netizens. The appreciation is mostly due to artist Shingo Kimura, who has refined their interpretation of Masashi Kishimoto's original look. Sasuke Retsuden, which examines a time in Naruto's history that the original series avoided, is undoubtedly nostalgic.
