Fury of the Gods

The fury of an Egyptian God card must be in your hands to win your games this event! For each round, a duelist must finish the game by attacking with their own Egyptian God card, to qualify the score as a win, unless specified like below.

Special Rules:
- Taking control and attacking with the opponent’s Egyptian God card counts as a loss for the duelist who attacked.
- Inflicting lethal damage to oneself by their own card (effect damage, or battle damage when attacking a monster) counts as a loss for the duelist at 0 LP.
- Achieving a special victory condition that does not include reducing the opponent’s LP by battle counts as a loss for the duelist who achieved that victory condition (Examples are “Exodia”, “Destiny Board”, “Final Countdown”, and decking out), unless specified as in the rules
- A draw counts as a draw
- As usual, losing connection counts as a loss for the duelist who lost the connection
- If ever there is someone abusing a loophole, such as decking themselves out to make themselves win, then a Judge will step in and determine who wins

To note that the Egyptian God cards are Obelisk the Tormentor, Slifer the Sky Dragon, and The Winged Dragon of Ra.

Event Highlights:

It is extremely rare to see Egyptian God cards winning the game, and even rarer to see Numeron, an engine that is used to quickly finish the game with the greatest of ease, used instead to summon The Winged Dragon of Ra

A very old-school tech, used by our fellow caveman duelist, Hisoka, was used to counter the attack of Slifer the Sky Dragon. And it worked like a charm. Goes to show Egyptian God cards are very vulnerable to anything nowadays.

Organiser’s quote:

“This tournament had its ups and downs. On one hand the spectators were amazed at how an engine can be used for Egyptian Gods. On the other hand, they did not expect to see meta decks take extremely long to fulfill the Egyptian God attack objective.”

Atmosphere:

Semi-competitive

Unique features:

Egyptian Gods must be played, and a game must always end with an Egyptian God card dealing the final blow.

Memorable moments:

A memorable moment would be the Numeron engine failing to help finish the game in 1 turn. If only the duelist, Shay, was using Underclock Taker, which is a monster that reduces ATK, Shay would’ve won the game in an instant. As a result, Hisoka managed to make a comeback, and won the game with Slifer the Sky Dragon.

Personal anecdotes:

It was fun to see Egyptian God cards winning the game, which as stated before, is a rare sight to behold. Especially with how intense the duels were on the livestreams, which the best way to experience it is by being live on Twitch.

Limit 1 Festival

The Limit 1 Festival is about only having 1 copy per card in your entire deck. That means no same cards that have the same name.

The Additional Forbidden & Limited List has been given down below (check title to see if banned, limited or semi-limited). This banlist is merged with the current Standard Forbidden & Limited List we have in Master Duel, meaning you also must consider the cards in the Standard Forbidden & Limited List.

Event Highlights:

Despite everything being limited, amazing end-boards could still be made like in the image showed above. This goes to show how 1 card combos exist for several archetypes, and several archetypes can merge very well.

Organiser’s quote:

“The Limit 1 Festival almost felt like a regular competitive tournament, with how easy some cards could bring near-unbreakable boards.”

Atmosphere:

Competitive

Unique features:

No more than 1 copy of each card

Memorable moments:

The most memorable moment was the very last game of the day’s tournament. Antinomy was on Adamancipator, and they managed to make the biggest of comebacks against ABYSS, who was playing Branded Bystial, thanks to the luck that was also shown back when Antinomy was a KOG playing Adamancipator. The Synchro Monster Chengying showed its might against monsters that could not negate its effects.

Teri as Teri Bonne

Uxas Uchiha as Parikshitsingh Nobin

The rebel as Dhuvish Ramasamy

ABYSS as Yakshesh Bissessur

Personal anecdotes:

This tournament could almost be mistaken as a regular tournament with how many meta decks were still playable, despite “consistency hits” in the form of “no more than 1 copy of a card”. Maybe competitive tournaments can use this format, but either way, this format will never be used again for casual tournaments.
