Antioxidant pollution defense: the formula's primary ingredient, green tea leaf water/leaf, is rich in catechins (well-documented antioxidant polyphenols) that neutralize free radicals in vitro. Because this is a rinse-off product, though, those antioxidants don't remain on skin to provide ongoing pollution defense the way a leave-on Vitamin C or green tea serum would — for daily antioxidant protection against Mauritius's sugar-cane-burning season (July-November) particulate load, pair this cleanser with a leave-on antioxidant serum rather than relying on the cleanse step alone.

Hard water interaction: as with any cleanser, Mauritius's regionally variable hard water can leave a calcium-stearate film after rinsing; this cleanser doesn't specifically counteract that residue, so a pH-balancing toner afterward helps offset it if you notice post-rinse tightness.
