As an anhydrous wax/butter balm, it sits on the lip surface as a physical film rather than absorbing in, similar in principle to a lip-only occlusive. Because it forms a continuous film, water contact during wudu may bead on the surface rather than reaching the skin underneath in the same way it would on bare skin.

If your practice requires water to reach the skin directly during ablution, wipe the balm off with a tissue before wudu and reapply afterward.
